BEVPOR PT Advanced Liquid Membrane Filter

Dominick Hunter

Within the beverage industry, it is important that products are microbiologically stabilised prior to packaging to prolong shelf-life without affecting the nature of the product. Minimising the the cost of stabilisation per unit volume whilst maintaining quality remains a constant driver. BEVPOR® PT is an advanced membrane filter cartridge designed for the beverage industry to meet and surpass these criteria.

Specifically developed as a beverage grade cartridge, BEVPOR® PT utilises an advanced polyethersulphone membrane and integral membrane pre-filter layer to give high flow rates, long life and improved throughputs. Both pre-filter and final membrane layers have an asymmetrical pore structure, providing graded filtration throughout their depth and resulting in increased capacity to hold contaminants.

BEVPOR® PT is especially suited to filtration of products that contain sub-micron colloidal species that may block unprotected sterilising-grade membranes.

Componentry has been selected to maximise mechanical strength and chemical compatibility. BEVPOR® PT cartridges can be repeatedly steamed in situ and offer a wide range of chemical resistance allowing the cartridges to be repeatedly cleaned for a longer service life.

BEVPOR® PT filter cartridges can be integrity tested to assure their performance throughout their service life.

• Removal ratings from 0.2 to 0.65 micron
• Pre-filter layer selected to provide removal of colloidal species providing long service life
• Repeatedly integrity testable
• Cartridge can be regenerated and sanitised for extended service life
• Low adsortption of protein, color and flavor components
• Asymmetrical porous structure of both membrane layers provides high contaminant loading capacity
